Enter the canonical URL for a page, and optionally add language/region alternates with their hreflang codes (e.g. en-US, fr, x-default).
We generate the <link rel="canonical"> tag plus one <link rel="alternate" hreflang="..."> per alternate you add — everything runs in your browser.
Paste the result into the page's <head>. Remember each language version needs its own equivalent block referencing all the others.

Frequently Asked Questions
When do I need a canonical tag?
Whenever the same or near-duplicate content is reachable at more than one URL — with and without a trailing slash, with tracking parameters, paginated views, etc. The canonical tag tells search engines which version is the 'real' one to index.
Should every page have a self-referencing canonical?
It's a common and safe default — a page pointing its canonical at its own URL avoids ambiguity if the same content ever becomes reachable through a query string or alternate path later.
What's hreflang for?
It tells search engines which URL to show for a given language/region, so a French visitor gets your /fr/ page instead of your English one in results. Each language version should reference all the others, including itself.
Do I need an x-default hreflang?
Recommended if you have a language/region picker or a version for visitors who don't match any listed language — set its hreflang value to "x-default".
Is this the same as a canonical tag maker?
Yes — generator and maker describe the same kind of tool here.
